A new function is the ability to give customized tactics to each player on the field. An example: giving a midfielder field-wide freedom while putting pressure on the opponent carrying the ball. During matches, there are two new balance modes: one for sprinting, and the other for a pure offensive strategy best used if you’re losing.

The modes can be used during games and add to the existing five: ultra-defense, defense, balanced, offense, and ultra-offense. Ultimate Team also brings interesting new features. You can create Concept Squads, get players on loan and play in Friendly Season mode, and compete against your friends with your Ultimate Team in 1v1 matches.

In short, FIFA 15 has become a place to play and follow virtual and real-life soccer respectively. There is more precision when dribbling the ball, and now, you have better control of ball trajectory. One-on-one during defense is more intense, with more strategy required to steal the ball away. If you get beaten, you can attempt to block a run, but fouls can quickly add up. Goalkeepers also have new AI so that they can react more realistically to shots on goal.

This, combined with added animations, makes watching shots on goal even more thrilling. Finally, there’s also a bit of good news for those who like to play single player: the game will test your ability to play against the AI and calibrate the degree of difficulty based on your skill. The difficulty, however, is always modifiable via the settings. The field now gets degraded as the match continues, and player models show grass and dirt stains as the final minutes approach.

Spectators are more involved, adding that needed layer of realism. There are also new sound effects like the ball hitting the pole. FIFA 15 now also features advertisements on the sidelines, as well as cameramen and ball boys.

The in-game cut-scenes for penalty shot setup are excellent, and replays finally match the quality that you’ll see when watching a real game. It looked pretty much the same as it did in the past generation consoles. It seemed as if the series of games hadn’t caught up to the new generation consoles yet. FIFA 15 was developed in a different engine for each generation though, but that probably didn’t do the trick either. The visual aspect is still disappointing, definitely not up to what you’d expect from this generation of consoles.

However, they managed to upgrade the physics and playability a lot. Now there is more realistic ball physics, and the control is much better than before. They even enhanced the AI for the goalkeepers. The difference isn’t so much in the visual department as it is in the gameplay aspect, and that’s also greatly appreciated. The ball doesn’t feel like it’s glued to the feet of the players, but it also isn’t constantly ten feet ahead when running either.

When you compare it to Pro Evolution Soccer , you’ll notice this straight away too. So, with all and all, improvement is improvement, and this one was great. We can’t say that the game changed the industry, nor that it revolutionized gaming in the world.

And when you look at the bigger picture, it is still pretty much the same game each year, so you have to look at the subtle differences to see if there really is an improvement.

As we mentioned before, while the visuals are disappointing, the gameplay is greatly improved here, and that’s great. The AI is better, and the physics are much more realistic too now.

This all adds up to make the game more fun and challenging. And yes, it’s great for having some matches with your friends too. Graphics and visuals: Disappointing, dull, and boring. The characters look way too similar to the previous year’s game. There isn’t really an improvement in this area. However the animations are a bit better, and that helps to add realism, especially when the camera is further away from the field. Gameplay: This is probably the best aspect of the game, and given the nature of the title, it’s also the most important, so that’s great.

The improved physics and much better AI make up for a better game experience. The matches are more realistic and faster now, and the different play modes are interesting. Sound: The commentators during the matches are realistic and have great quality recordings. The sound effects help greatly in giving the game more realism, and it all adds up to a great experience.

Dynamic Matches and Team Management will be available. Every player will be recognized and will have his own identity. Each player will be identifiable.

Every player has their own unique moves. Some players will now be able to do backflips and jumps, which is a feature of emotional intelligence. The demo version of this game has been released.
